Old Glory

V E R S E

We’re a nation built on Christian ground, forefathers fought in God’s own armor

to secure the rights our Creator gave — life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness

All men created equal, straight from above

We’ve made mistakes along the way, but we rise to fixe them with God above

From the Mexican War to the Civil fight, and battles with the tribes we knew

Don’t forget where we came from — let’s honor the red, white, and blue

C H O R U S

Old Glory flying high, the ole red, white, and blue

Waving proud and true

It started in God’s ways, let it ring out in these days

Let truth and justice prevail

and the ways of God unveil

Our grandpas and uncles stormed those beaches, fought to right the wrongs

for God’s chosen people when the darkness sang its song

They gave it all in God’s armor, pure, brave, and true

Some came home heroes, some gave all so freedom could ring through

God bless every veteran, boots on the ground or stars in the sky

Y’all carried the fight, paid the price — thank you form the heart, we won’t forget why

Folks strong and proud, families clean tight

Life was hard but honest, walking straight in the light

C H O R U S

Old Glory flying high, the ole red, white, and blue

Waving proud and true

It started in God’s ways, let it ring out in these days

Let truth and justice prevail

and the ways of God unveil

Today the troubles stack up high, but don’t forget the road we’ve trod

Men are men, women are women — made by the hand of God

Heaven’s gate is narrow, high, but open to the true

Everyone gets a chance, judged by the work they do

Plagues and sickness born form own our hands — crimes against His name

Leaders hiding in shame, playing the devil’s game

but God and justice will prevail, that’s the promise we hold near

When I stand before my Savior, I’ll drop to my knees with tears

B R I D G E

Lord, thank you for the brave who stood the line so tall

for the ones who came back scarred, and the one’s who gave their all

Ill thank the Lord for the ones that gave so much

I’ll beg forgiveness for the times we strayed so far

Praise Your holy name for this land, for the vets, for the stars

May she run straight and true, under wide blue skies forevermore

Thank you, Lord for this great land, for the people tough and free

for every veteran standing guard; keep her flying high

That old red, white and blue

Old Glory … Forever True
